Your comments were very well expressed and quite valid. There seem to be some people on the forum that drank the kool aid and will defend whatever the developers do or not do without even trying it out and simply because "they said so." Personally, I completely agree with you. In most games there is a mechanism to avoid totally unbalanced fights/duels/battles, e.g: for every 10% that your power is higher than mine when you fight me, any resources that you might have gotten from me will be reduced by 10% and the damage to your units will be increased by 10%. Art of Conquest is one of the few that does not have any such mechanisms and that's why it is rife with bullying and if we want to play, we HAVE TO do whatever the players with the most power want (mind you, I could stay in my castle in the capital without moving for 6 months just collecting resources and upgrading my troops until I have 200K. Oh joy! )

Recently in the update about two weeks ago they added the following change to protect the lower players a little more.

"In order to initiate a duel, your Power rating must be at least 50% of your opponent’s Power rating."


Please forgive me but your statement is not correct. Let me illustrate it in easy math for you:

If my power is 25K and yours is 100K, my power rating is only 25% of yours and therefore I cannot initiate a duel. This would apply until my power was at 50K and only if yours remained at 100K. However, if YOU were to initiate the duel, your power rating would be 200% compared to mine (in the starting example I just provided) and you would be able to kick my "you know what" as many times as you wanted.

Now let me turn the tables. In order for you to know how the little guy feels, someone with at least 400K power would have to duel you. I don't know very many players with that power rating and those who have it are usually the ones that control a whole server. However, NOBODY with less than 200K can initiate a duel with them.

Sort of letting a mosquito know that until it grows, it shouldn't bother an elephant


Thank you for clarifying my doubts on the game! That's quite an effort in explanation! With the math and current mechanics aside, I just hope to see the game develops further into tackling such tiny details which i've mentioned. Even a 80k vs a 100k power difference is alr an unfair advantage. A "fair" trial of combat would be better if both are given a cap limit, lets say 75k or 70k. Then it would be just to see which player would stand out as the better strategist no matter what power level they are at. Hope you get my stand point. Cheers mate :)
