Sieging bug? (random fire on the backlines)

I dont know if its intended or a bug.

But sometimes the garrison just targets random troops on the backline (!) at the beginning of the siege or somewhere between. Even though there is a whole line of units in front of them. Archers, rockets, eagleeyes, it doesnt matter it happens sometimes, and sometimes it doesnt. Is it completely random and intended? Or a bug?

Important heroes and units get taken out at the start of the battle sometimes very randomly, which is weird.

Thats intended and they are supposed to attack strongest threat but in fact its random... So if you have gold or silver catapult and deadeyes target them there is nothing you can do...After killing first cata they will again skip all frontline and shoot down next one. With archers and other ranged defense you can use Mana Barrier in time to save your backline but deadeyes will do crit anyways and make all these hp upgrades look like big joke ...

Pretty much this.
Sometimes i notice moving something in my layout one tile to left like a catapult in backline tends to get it targeted every trip
So sometimes i dont think its random

It all makes sense after reading that. I do think its random. Ive tried all kinds of setups and attacking all sorts of castles. It happens sometimes, sometimes it doesnt. And the place they decide to fire at also is completely random. Insane range whatever is on that wall lol. Anyone want to share anything more?

so the deadliest threat to my army is my under leveled priests cause they always get targeted first lol

I made couple of vids long time ago while using mix of troops with 100% coverage. No gaps whatsoever and also tried to cover with mixes of other big units spiders/tanks and heroes. It also doesn't mather if garrison have front troops or just range on wall. Defenses can skip frontline randomly (deadyes do it almost every time) and usually human catapults are most affected. Support confirmed that ranged defense is supposed to attack biggest threat. I then made video showing clearly how silver catapult is getting targeted (behind 100% cover) in the begining of siege while gold catapult next to it was actually the biggest threat... Never got another response on this issue.
Gaps in middle can also cause it often and less frequent if are on left or right. Placing catapults one or two squeres inside doesn't help either. With dwarf or lich I haven't encoutered this problem regardless if front line is miserable(only 1 row). My conclusion is that human catapults are bad choice for siege and gold ones are targeted often. Devs punished us with this "feature" for not buying Jacques...Best siege is spam all bronze and Jacques.
