Do you agree that rotation should be required for all court positions.

Discussion regarding King and Court appointments

Mon Jan 08, 2018 9:45 am

We all have been in this situation where a group of people are not willing to share court appointments.

This is obviously placing every other player in realm at huge disadvantage.

There are no power/honor requirements and 1 player can be appointing himself as king, prince and queen.

There are also those greedy fellows who are
rotating appointments only to themselfs for months and is becoming a trend.

Let me know what you think. Shouldn't there be forced rotation for court appointments in order to prevent same persons to be appointed over and over again?

I think its make things more interesting. It cause guild to break alliance, migrate to other kingdoms, make alliance with enemy to slay the king :).

I think it's a big matter of staying competitive kingdom wise. I mean we could give king/chancellor and stuff to growing weaker players in a kingdom, but what will happen is that the kingdom who keeps putting their investment in their stronger players will overtake the kingdom which doesn't.

Like this people can strategically appoint people, and if they want to rotate they can still do that.

Without requirements anyone can be appointed regardless of his/her contribution.
How are you going to comment on situations where 1 person hold few spots with alts?
With current set up is always more strategical to appoint same people and keep rest of population weak.

In my opinion It is better to have 7 with 1kk power than 9 with 800k.
So the top 7 can rotate as they like, depending on specific needs.
As per having alts in RC is totally inadmissible... minor post should be based on contribution to the kingdom and current needs. This should be subject to top 50. They do invest time and cash in game. There is no point to give the title to someone that is with power 400k ish and in 150+... it is a waist of position

Royal positions should be based on political manouvering between different factions within the same kingdom. Ideally based on how many votes each house can contribute to the king being elected. This would mean that a smaller house with not that many powerful players could get a number of important positions purely based on the vote tally they bring to the table. As there is no way to attack your own kingdom, there's not really anything the powerful players can do about it. In that sense, I really like this design. Royal positions can be a political / voting game, while who has the giant / big cities is generally based on strength / power. This incentives people to actually join smaller houses as that will give them voting power to get good positions.

Sadly this mechanic is not working well at the moment due to the huge number of alts and the big incentive to put all players in the few top houses so that the huge bonuses that the big / giant cities give can be taken advantage of.

Anyway, as the game caps at castle level 40 I do think it's more important to give positions to alot of different people then just to the strongest players. Those strongest players will get to castle level 40 anyway and are already committed to putting in more effort also (or more cash), so often it's way less needed on them. The slightly less strong players will often be the free to play, but active players. If they continue playing and have the idea that they actually matter in the kingdom as a whole you will end up with a stronger kingdom and more active players left in the long run.

Very good and logical solution...

Where is the third option..
3. Some high power players should get a turn.

Once the top power player reachs tier40 their is no reason to give king or chancellor every week. especially in a farming server.
It is also better to have 10-1200k users instead of 1-1200k user who gets the king all the time.

However, letting everyone have a turn is simply impossible and not best for the kingdom. My opinion is depending on the power users in your kingdom, top 5-15 will be a good number of users to have a chance to be king.

i think this 'fight' for positions and king and possible break away clans because cant get royal spots is exactly how the game should be played, placing too many restrictions just limits the gameplay.. if its not fair maybe u and ur mates take ur own kingdom and rule how u want things to be done .. making the game limited and linear just = boring and we need dynamic features to get the most from the gameplay, branch houses and controlling the king vote been a thing since inception so unless the system itself gets a rework this will not change...

As for the stratergy in sharing the spots , the upcoming server merge will show why it was best to share the spots over the time of the farm servers instead just feed the same couple big guys... having more near max rather than rely on the whales is going to be better for all involved and give much more exciting gameplay with many more competing in the battles and holding cities...
