Optimized hero formations

Some heroes just have a synergy with each other. I created a set of lists that aim to optimize this synergy (all of these formations are intended at least in purple fusion and 3 stars promotions):

Critical Hit Formation: uses Boomer to increase strong and slow heroes such as Musashi and Urestag to land criticals
-Esabel/Hanzo (Esabel, being the most DPS among tanks, and Hanzo, being a dodge tank with high critical by himself, gain great bonus from Boomer, hence optimizing the formation)
-Musashi (high damage, his crits split worlds ... and Boomer increases his critical hit bonus!)
-Slim/Enrique (Slim would be optimal, his critical is the highest in the game and would shine in this formation, but he's not easy to get. Enrique would give a whole new perspective to the formation: he gives haste to a teammate, = more attacks = more possibilities for crits. Also, gives a dodge aura, that would work GREAT with Hanzo, if you decided to put him in the formation)
-Urestag/Leah (His critical hit is already high, and because he is hasty, he just lands more hits. If you dont have him, can be replaced with Leah)
-Boomer (Finally, your Critical hit enhancer. He alsodoes tons of damage with ultimate)

In syntesis, every component of this formation has high crit chance, and boomer just makes it explode. Enemy dodge heroes are a problem, so run against an enemy Hanzo or Enrique.

----------------------------------------------
High Energy formation: Centered on Lucius' ability to give your allies energy to get more ultimates. Uses also Sumiko to buff the entire party mag and phys attack. To maximize the effect, every hero uses both:
-Vincent (Your tank. Vincent is great in this formation, since he lands more ultimates, hence staying more alive, and also has both magic-phys damage)
-Dr Zeno (Who would benefit from more than one ultimate in a fight? Our fella Zeno, of course. Sumiko also buffs both magical and phisical damage, Zeno benefits from both)
-Sumiko (buffs both magical and phisical, so every hero in this formation uses both)
-Mortus (Of course, because he uses phisical and magic, great at Hypnotizing, and his Ultimate just kills something. He also steals energy by himself, so why not give him even more?
-Lucius (your energy enhancer and defender. period.)

Ultra high magical armor from this team (because both zeno and lucius last ability increases party Mag defence. Vincent also increases his own mag defence stat). if enemy has high Physical damage, this formation is in a pinch.

------------------------------------------------
Magic team: we come to a classic but very efficient synergy between heroes: every hero buffs other magical attack or reduces enemy magic armor
-Elric/Torsen (your tank. Very important, because other heroes are very fragile)
-Ariel/Osiris (Ariel is just GREAT, but doesnt help other people. To maximize magical damage, use Osiris, wich enhances others magical attack, and also has a great damage output. Also, she uses silence just like ariel)
-Selene/Seraphine (Selene is great at oneshotting stuff, and she reduces enemy magical armor!! You know what that means, right? Every hero in this formation is a magic user... Best choice, but if you have seraphine available, well... use her xD)
-Alastair (increases allies magical attack, as well as being in back line, transforming enemies. Just outstanding hero overall)
-Mariana (Great magic user, heals, and increases crits, so she increases damage A LOT say, for Selene and Alastair. What to say? Great choice)

Personally i love this formation, for all side effects such as transformation from alastair, silence from osiris, etc... toghether with the sky high damage output this team has. Downside is that its pretty fragile, and also susceptible to AoE. So if you see Ember or Ariel in enemy team just... run.

------------------------------------------------------
Phys team: very high physical attack , toghether with heroes that lower enemy phys armor. Great combo, just like magic formation above.
-Ulfang (haste, lifesteal buff for whole party, AND phisical armor debuff????! perfect choice for this formation)
-Musashi (because he is Beast Musashi, HE CAN ALL! Also, with lifesteal buff from Ulfang ... lol)
-Leah (reduces all enemies Phys armor, giving a huge boost for the whole team. Also, she is a really good hitter)
-Alana/Gale(Phys damage increase. Alana can reduce enemy phys armor also, so best choice here. If you dont have her, use Gale)
-Urestag/Slim (Urestag, phys hitter for excellence, second only to Slim and Musashi. Period)

Ultra high damage because of combo with Ulfang Alana and Leah, wich buffs a lot damage for you hitters: Urestag and Musashi. Here even enemy phys tanks are going to have a rough time. Suscettible to magic, and also, being an "all-in" formation, doesnt have a tank, so its a do or die.

------------------------------------------------------
Hybrid Glass Cannon: this is both a magical and physical team. Dont expect to use a tank here xD
-Ulfang (gives survivability to the team via lifesteal buff. Also you need his haste buff to get ahead of enemy attacks, remember: this is a glass cannon formation)
-Musashi (Your phys hitter. With haste and lifesteal from ulfang he can survive the time necessary)
-Osiris (Enhances mag attack for the mages and silences enemies)
-Mortus/Wraxius (Mortus is your hitter, that can also hypnotize. Of course, if you have Wraxius, USE HIM! He is a beast, and also increases ally mag attack)
-Alastair (increases allies mag attack, hits like a truck, transforms, blinds.... whaaaaa?)

A lot of alterate statuses from this party, wich gives survivability to front line. A LOT of damage dealers, and between the best you can have. Its a win or lose formation.
-----------------------------------------------------
Stunlock: This formation uses stuns and debuffs to impede enemy movements, great initial lunge. Great in arena.
-Elric (Stuns enemies, wich is what you want, and tanks really well)
-Ulfang (Stuns and gives haste for initial 5 seconds, enabling a lot of synergy)
-Seraphine/Selene (Of course, she will use the magic armor debuff right at the start of battle, than the Aoe spell, and than slow. By the time she slows enemy team, ariel will have already used HER Aoe spell, killing off the debuffed hero for shure. These 3 abilities will come in less than 5 seconds thanks to Ulfang. If you dont have Seraphine, use Selene to reach a similar effect)
-Ariel (With the debuff from seraphine there is a lot of sinergy in killing stuff with AoE, in wich Ariel excels. She can also silence, and gains magic power from Alastair)
-Alastair (Just great great hero, here even more, because if his transform ability procs right at the start of battle, you have a kill from ariel/seraphine and a duck thanks to Alastair, becoming a 5vs3 right in the first 5 seconds)

This formation is GREAT in arena. Downside is that depends on super rare heroes such as Alastair and Seraphine. But this can be deadly.

----------------------------------------------------
Double tank: This formation has two strong tanks, that can survive everything (so no Torsen), while the backline destroyes enemy team.
-Elric (my personal favourite. Can survive a lot)
-Esabel/Drago (second tank that can survive everything. Can be replaced with Drago)
-Alastair (Hits like a MONSTER, inflicts lots of debuffs to enemy team, and increases mag attack to everybody ... All of this while being safe and sound in the backline)
-Mariana (tons of damage, increases crit chance for your hitters, and heals tanks. Goodie.)
-Wraxius (Increases mag attack for all hitters, and hits himself A LOT)

I think this is the most pesky of them all. Its difficult to counter, and packs a punch. Lots and lots of synergy between the backline: i like it. If you see Gale or Mariana in enemy team, run.

Here, These are my ideas, of course, they are just intended as some amusing formations, they are not necessarily practical. I think they do, but since this is a game that needs a formation for every occasion, you will have to change formations a lot. For example, in crucible, these are just horrible. But, in campaign, dojo, bountyful, and maybe arena these are pretty good. Here is a link to my guide viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3810, it will help you through the game ;) Bye

Excellent post. Very useful, even for people who've been playing for a while. Well done.

One thing worth mentioning for your magic team is using Vincent as a Tank. Most of his attacks are magic-based, so he gets nice buffs from the other Heroes on this team, and the single target dmg from Alastair, Selene, etc help him create bats from caged opponents, which are key to his survivability.

Vincent works well, in general, with good single target Heroes for frequent bat creation, even vs Physical opponents (within reason).

Also, considerations for your Stun-Lock Team could be Mortus, whose Sleeps last forever, Flora, whose Charm goes off quote often, and Enrique because of his AoE Sleep ULT.

thank you for your feedback. I didnt mention Vincent only because i dont like using him, since his fourth ability is too situational (makes him stronger only against magic users). But yes, vincent is a good addition.
As for stunlock, i thought of mortus too, but that formaton is arena-optimized, so its less of a theme than the others. Its just a strong synergy between heroes, so i cant think of someone to remove to add a mortus. Removing Elric is a tank removal, and also a stunner. Ulfang is key, seraphine and alastair also, and ariel is just stronger than mortus overall... my opinion though.

Reasonable points. Just figured those two were worth mentioning...

If you can still edit the original post, add a "GUIDE:" to the front so that you can enter it into the current contest. It should be a front-runner for one of the gem prizes.
