I managed to reach lvl 40 on a server and I am debating on wherever it's worth spending 420 diamonds to get an early Elric to 4 stars. How big are the improvement for Elric from 3 to 4 stars? Is the price worth it for one extra star?

It increases the amount of stats you gain per lvl, you can look up the exact amount. You are probably looking at something like 700hp, 75 attack, and 30 magic and armor resistance.

That is the reason why I am curious,since I started working recently on an Elric and he already has impressive stats for a 2 star (45/50 but calculated the 5 missing for tomorrow with the extra double event) and I am thinking he could be an excellent tank while also dishing quite a bit of DPS. He is already at 330 damage with 5700 hp and 200 p.armor and 135 m.armor right now.

The question is really what to spend diamonds on and how plentiful or scarce they are for you. Players usually spend first on stamina to reach 800 guild points contribution. The next item is for double SS event like you see now (and are inquiring about). The other item is for a set of ten diamond chests to pull more heroes. So if you prioritize Elric, you can spend the diamonds. Otherwise, you will still get him there in perhaps another week and can save the diamonds.

So going from 2 to 3 stars will give you 19 extra health per lvl, 1 physical attack, and .4 magic resist and armor. So at lvl 40 getting the 3rd star is an increase of 760 hp, 40 attack, 16 magic and armor. From 3 to 4 you get 18 hp per lvl, .9 attack, .5 magic and armor. At lvl 40 that's a total of 720 hp, 36 damage, and 20 magic and armor.

Hm then it def seems to be worth it since I am will get it to +2 blue as well, so another increase coming in there. I guess it is worth to 4 star him early.

@ash0ck. I have 3.5k diamonds atm but I usually max stamina daily, although for 420 diamonds, It is def worth to rush Elric for Arena purposes. I hit top 20 daily , and I would like to keep it that way.

I would prioritize Drago. Much better Tank.

I recall Elric being a very good tank in the lower and middle levels. I did not develop Drago until after L80 (same with Leon). Then they became more valuable. Elric's awakening has brought him back to usefulness (and going against a fully forged Elric is tough). In either case, multiple tanks will be needed down the road, but investing in Elric now and maintaining arena success is a good choice and will never be wasted.

Why the hell would I prioritize drago? He is 1 star right now and only have 2 heroics open for him. That just seems like a waste of resources right. As for Elric Ash0ck I agree, he seems pretty decent atm. Made him 4 stars today, got him to 2027 rating, 300+ physical/magic armor, 490 atk and 7600 hp, seems pretty ahead, so should help a lot with dungeons and tanking in general.

You will spend most of your time at End Game level. Just a tip.
