Hi everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone else has ever experienced an issue to my guild.

Every single season, we get paired against the same opponent in more than one week of the season. This feels like a bug to me, but I wanted to get feedback from others before posting a thread on the bug board.

This season, we faced the same opponent in week 7 that we faced in week 3. Last season, we faced that exact same opponent one week, and we have two other weeks that were a duplicate opponent. I'm sure I am exaggerating with this last part, I could swear we faced on opponent 3 times in a single season 2 seasons ago.

Personally, I think it is wrong for this pairing to be allowed. It should be expected that the guild which won the first match-up will win the second match-up. (Sure, that's great if you're the stronger guild, but it's not fun for the weaker guild.)

Do other people agree that the game should be updated to create more unique war pairings?

I agree with you! I don't think you should ever fight the same opponent more than once. I don't think it's a bug, just how it's programmed aka *random*

so far we never had the same enemies maybe in different seasons but not in the same season

Urion, I think there is more to it than just randomness. It feels like the algorithm that makes the guild war matching is isolated to servers that are within 2-3 server numbers above or below each other, and then you are paired against opponents who have similar war results. What I mean by that last part is that I think they try to pair the #1 and the #2 ranked guilds against each other on the same server in a few of the weeks of the seasons. So like week 3 instead of it being a random match it just goes down the leaderboard: 1 plays 2, 3 played 4, etc. etc. Then they do the exact same thing in week 6 of the season. The problem is that a lot of times teams have the exact same rank so they get the exact same matchup. I'm sure it's more complex than that, but I don't have a lot of faith in the development team behind this game to make any assumptions about how they've tested any of what they've programmed.

Ideally, I would like to see a result where the developers explicitly exclude the ability for guilds to face each other again for a period of 9 weeks. This way you can never fight the same opponent twice in the same season.

I can tell you from personal experience that the range is at least 6. This is the second time we (server 05) are fighting a guild from (server 11).

I think it's even wider than that. Didn't you just get paired this week against someone on like 18 or 21, Urion?

I thought so but turns out Detonation is on server 11. I thought they were 21 originally =/
