if you read the skill for the titan scythe it is 30% damage to mechs, not for heroes but for your army. This would melt mech armies unless its a bad description.

I think they changed it so the idea was that mercs are for lower level players under the power of level 7+ troops, and from then on they are no longer required as you should be researching a broad strategy within your own race. This is how it seems to me anyway.

its a bummer to hear you will stop playing mate. I am annoyed about all the protection too, but if they keep adding stuff like the mirror and things for there to be a more diverse group of targets to hit, then I am ok with that.

its was built around the idea of borrowing units to beat setups. No one race counters all things really.
