You are at mid level, so by now you should have at least 5 strong Heroes. You could be losing because of the heroes you are using, or because you need to work on them. I recommend joining the SH Discord so players there can help you. A link to the server can be found in the SH subreddit.

You and me both. Unfortunately many stats and the definitions of the abilities are very vague, and asking the devs does not always end up with an answer. Make the best choices you can with what info there is. This is a RPG after all.

Yes. VIP does not go to the next account you open. You put money on an account, it stays on that account. That's how it works. All servers are the same and have the same features, so leaving your VIP account isn't such a good idea. The only advantage to jumping on a new server is for the achievement...
